I’m starting a newsletter.
If you’ve been following this blog, you know I already share plenty—genealogy finds, family-history rabbit holes, and the occasional personal weirdness that wanders into the frame. So why add a newsletter?
Because the internet has become a scavenger hunt.
Between social media algorithms, disappearing posts, and the general chaos of “wait—where did I put that link?”, a newsletter lets me send the highlights directly—in one place—without asking you to chase updates or hope a platform is feeling generous.
Think of it as an occasional “hello-from-my-desk” note… with more ancestors.
What you can expect
This will be low frequency—about four to six issues a year—and I’ll only send it when I actually have something worth sharing. When I do, you’ll get:
- A roundup of recent genealogy/family-history posts (so you don’t miss anything)
- A small research tidbit or discovery I’m chewing on
- The occasional “you can’t make this up” moment from real records and real lives
- A quick note on what I’m writing (because yes, that overlaps—often)
When it starts
The first issue will go out in a couple of weeks.
Want in?
This blog will stay focused on genealogy, family history, and whatever personal oddness is currently in season. The newsletter is the occasional buffet plate—a curated mix of highlights from both blogs and my writing life. Don’t worry—I’ll keep the topics in their own little sections. I hate it when the foods touch.
If you’d like to receive the newsletter, you can subscribe here:
No spam. Unsubscribe anytime.
And if newsletters aren’t your thing, no problem—keep reading the blog as you always have. (Also: unsubscribing is always one click, no awkward breakup note required.)
Warmly,
Deb Holman
