Today Scott and I took the Amtrak train to Philadelphia for the International Association of Jewish Genealogical Societies conference. The train was a fabulous choice. Very comfortable seats and a relaxing ride! My friend Peri and her husband joined us which was great. Not just for the conversation but they hooked us up with a Red Cap who did all the work pushing our luggage!
After checking in we fortified ourselves with a quick snack then met up with the group going to the Phillies game.

We packed 7 passengers into a 6 passenger Uber and headed to the game.

After a short rain delay (during which we bought hotdogs) the game began.
A rather uneventful game against the Washington Nationals until the Phillies got it together and scored 4 runs in the 6th inning making the score 5-1

We left after the 7th inning, but apparently didn’t miss anything. Final score 5-1.
We grabbed a taxi for the ride back to the hotel and met up with members returning from the game.
Our small of three soon grew to more than eight as people joined us.
The conference hasn’t even officially begun and I’ve already met a bunch of new people!
Looking forward to meeting even more folks and maybe even finally breaking a brick wall or two.
Oh, yes. I brought a few copies of my book. You never know…
